Terms of service

Terms of Service [Effective Sept 14,2026]

These Terms of Service govern your use of the Cognitive GRC Knowledge Bar website and your purchase of online training and other digital products from Cognitive GRC Limited.

By using this website or placing an order, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website or purchase our products.

1. Online training and course access

When you purchase an online training course, we grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable licence to access and use the course for your own learning.

Course access begins immediately on purchase. Your total access period is determined by the tier you selected at checkout (30, 60, or 90 days) and is stated on the product page and order confirmation.

Access is delivered in rolling 30-day cycles. Where you have purchased 60 or 90-day access, your access will be extended automatically to reflect the total period you have paid for. Reminder emails are sent 14, 7, and 2 days before each deadline.

Access expires automatically at the end of your total purchased period. Unused time, incomplete modules, or failure to complete the course within your access period does not create a right to a refund. Paid 30-day extensions are available at any time for HKD 50 by contacting info@cognitivegrc.com.

2. Personal use only

You must not:

  • Share your login details or course access with another person.
  • Copy, reproduce, record, download, distribute, resell, or commercially exploit course content unless we give written permission.
  • Upload course materials to a public website, file-sharing service, learning platform, or social media account.
  • Use course materials to create or deliver competing training without our written permission.

We may suspend or cancel access if we reasonably believe that course access or materials are being misused.

Where we reasonably believe that course access or materials have been shared, redistributed, or otherwise misused in breach of section 2, we may:

Immediately suspend or terminate the learner's access without refund;

Report the breach to the learner's employer where the training was purchased by an employer;

Recover any losses caused by unauthorised distribution, including the cost of investigation and enforcement.

3. Orders and payment

Product descriptions, prices, course details, and access conditions are shown at checkout or on the relevant product page. You agree to provide accurate billing and contact information.

An order is accepted when we send an order confirmation or provide access to the purchased product. We may refuse or cancel an order where there is an obvious pricing error, suspected fraud, payment failure, or another legitimate reason.

4. Refunds and cancellations

All course purchases are final once course access has been provided. Because our training is delivered as a digital service and access is granted immediately on payment, you agree that we will begin performing our obligations under this contract before any cooling-off period expires, and you accept that any cooling-off right that would otherwise apply is thereby waived.

Refunds will be considered only where a significant technical problem on our side prevents delivery of the training and cannot be resolved within a reasonable time, or where required by applicable law.

Customers experiencing genuine difficulty completing a course within their access period should contact us before their access expires — paid 30-day extensions are available for HKD 50.

5. Certificates.

On completing a course, you may be issued with a completion certificate. A certificate confirms only that you have completed the course and any assessment to the pass mark set by us. It is not a regulatory qualification, a professional accreditation, or evidence of ongoing competence, unless we expressly state otherwise for a specific course.

You are responsible for retaining and presenting your certificate as you see fit. While our courses are designed to meet regulatory scope and coverage, your HR and Compliance team are ultimately responsible for approving and providing credit for the course in line with your firms learning and development programme which may be developed specifically for you. We cannot guarantee that your team will accept these courses for CPT credit purposes which is why we have highlighted this at the point of purchase.

6. Intellectual property

All course content, videos, documents, text, graphics, logos, recordings, assessments, and related materials are owned by or licensed to Cognitive GRC Limited.

Purchasing a course does not transfer ownership of any content or intellectual property to you.

7. Educational disclaimer

Our courses provide general information on regulatory frameworks and industry practices as at the date of course publication. Regulatory rules, guidance, and market practices change. You are responsible for keeping up to date with the current requirements applicable to your firm.

Completion of a Cognitive GRC training course:

Does not constitute regulatory approval, certification, or licensing of the completing individual or their firm;

Does not satisfy any statutory or regulatory training obligation that must be verified against a specific regulator's requirements;

Does not create any advisory or consulting relationship between Cognitive GRC and the learner or their employer.

Firms subject to regulation by the Securities and Futures Commission, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, or any other regulatory authority remain solely responsible for identifying and meeting their own training, competence, and continuous professional development requirements.
